Product direction meetings, dev mentoring, UX fixes, and blog

Met with a director to align product direction, mentored a junior dev on AI, GitHub, and development process, fixed UX details in the app, and reworked blog post cover image.

A day more about people than code. Two important meetings and a few targeted fixes on the client project.

Client project (NDA)

Product direction meeting

Met with the company director to align on product direction. We discussed priorities, next steps, and what matters for the launch. These conversations recalibrate the technical work: what feels urgent in the code is not always what matters to the business.

Mentoring a junior developer

Ran a session with a junior developer to teach and align on standards. Covered AI applied to development, GitHub workflow (PRs, issues), development process with agents, bug fixes, and general code quality improvements. The goal is to level up the team so the project can absorb contributions with less friction.

UX fixes

Fixed interface details: "angle" refers to the application (aerial spraying), not the aircraft. Time fields needed full dates, and I adjusted based on screenshots of the current state. One workspace started working on an open GitHub issue.

tgmarinho-ai-website

Continued the blog post about database connection pooling. The cover image generated earlier didn't look good, so I remade it. Also closed the daily journal backlog (entries for July 28 and 29).

A day where the conversations with people were more productive than any commit.
